Imagine a different story

What if?

What if, like actors in the rehearsal room, you try on a new way of thinking?

Pretend a new potential.

Either on your own, with a trusted friend or loved one, commit to this exercise for five minutes.

Imagine yourself as someone other than yourself. Try on a new skin. As anyone – someone you admire. A piece of you dying to be seen, a famous historical figure, the character in your favorite TV show, the President of The United States! Choose a person and commit to transforming yourself into them for five minutes.

Get it in your body and feel it.  Try on this person like trying on a new pair of shoes for size. Play in your role, or you shoes. Walk around in them! How do they feel? Are they snug or loose? How do they make you feel different? Do you feel bigger and stronger, or smaller and weaker? Do they change your mood? Do they make you laugh? Or cry? Or angry? Why?

If we can feel it and pretend it, we can become it!

Go Further… Create a vision board of your character… your best self…. you as someone else. Or role play with someone else! Play! Play! Play! as well as my mantra:

“Practice the impossible!”
