ADHD: A Therapeutic Approach

Through my many years of experience, I’ve found that mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are extremely useful in helping clients manage their ADD/ ADHD. I have first-hand experience in identifying and supporting clients with their lack of focus and completely understand how taxing it can be on the client, as well as on their loved ones.

Clients struggling with ADD/ADHD often find it very difficult to complete the smallest of tasks. This can result in low self-esteem and depressive symptoms. Often, just making it through the day feels daunting to the client. Depression and anxiety can co-occur in clients who are unaware of their diagnosis with ADD or ADHD.

Medication can be helpful, and if a client is open to taking that route, I will refer them to a board-certified psychiatrist to see if they are the right candidate and to confirm that the treatment is necessary and appropriate. Evidence has shown that therapy and medication are very effective for clients in managing their diagnosis.
